I work Saturdays, I also like watching college football. This hasn't really been an issue, until today. Today is the biggest week for Big 10 football. The Michigan Wolverines are playing the Ohio State Buckeyes. This game is always a good game to watch, but this year, if Michigan beats OSU, it ties them with 2 losses each in the Big 10. MSU is playing PSU. If MSU can pull an upset today, that will also give PSU 2 losses. Making a 3 way tie for the Big 10. Now, if this happens, Michigan will end up with the title, since PSU and OSU will have lost to Michigan. This will give Michigan a BCS bowl.
Now... in theory, I should be able to watch these games. I say in theory, because for the last 3-4 months I've been working on borrowed time. We got word in about June that the contract I work on was going away. I then got notice that my last day of work was going to be around the end of August. Long story short, and 4 extensions later, I'm now not scheduled to be laid off until the end of January. So, because my company is spineless, and won't demand a decision. The company we have a contract with is unable to make a decision, with the other competeing company being wishy washy on whether they can actually do the work of the contract, I get to sit at work, wasteing away, and missing the biggest day of the season.
UPDATE: Ok... So, there is a silver lining here. Yeah, I'm still miffed that no-one can decide what's happening with my job, but there are advantages working for a tech company... Managed to find an unused AV cart, and a pair of rabbit ears. There will be a viewing at my desk :)
UPDATE 2: Well... Michigan lost in the last minute.
